OUT TAKES Dallas 2006 Concludes

2006 FestivalThe 2006 OUT TAKES Dallas Lesbian and Gay Film Festival concluded on Sunday evening with our closing feature, Boy Culture . A packed theater audience helped to celebrate the closure of another successful festival.

Prior to the closing feature, the festival awards were presented as part of the Festival Awards Ceremony:

Best Actress - Monica Cervera – "Marieta", 20 Centimeters

Best Actor - Tyler Hanes - "Cassidy Clarke", In the Blood

Best Documentary - Queer Spawn

Best Short Film - Can't Buy Me Love

Jim C. Hampton Best Feature - Whole New Thing

The Audience Choice Award (based on audience vote) went to "20 Centimeters ". This award comes with a $1000 award underwritten by The Dallas Voice.

The McMullen-Sullivan Founders Award (for films with Texas content or with Texas-based filmmakers) was awarded to "Straight Acting ".

Thanks to all that made this year's festival a success - our sponsors, our volunteers, and our audience! We hope that you enjoyed our selection of films for this year, as well as the special events surrounding the festival.

The seats in the theater are hardly cool and our group of all-volunteer staff is already hard at work on next year's festival.
