OUT TAKES Dallas Awards 2003 Festival Beneficiary

OUT TAKES Dallas Lesbian and Gay Film Festival is proud to announce that it has awarded $4,000 to the Legacy Counseling Center, the Festival's Beneficiary for 2003. Legacy is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, which provides affordable and quality mental health care, counseling, and emotional support services to people in the North Texas area who are impacted by HIV and AIDS.

Due to the closing of Walt Whitman Community School, the previously announced beneficiary, the OUT TAKES Dallas Board of Directors reviewed the applicants from 2003, and designated the Legacy Counseling Center as the new beneficiary for the 2003 Festival. We hope the best for the Walt Whitman Community School, and we look forward to considering them again as a beneficiary recipient after they have regained their footing.

OUT TAKES Dallas would also like to remind community organization leaders that we are currently actively receiving applications for the 2004 Festival Beneficiary. The deadline for applications is June 20, 2004. Beneficiary requirements and application can be found on our Web site, www.outtakesdallas.org.

In total, since the Festival began in 1999, it has been able to donate over $41,000, thanks to the support of the community, the audiences, and the filmmakers.
