Our Mission

The mission of OUT TAKES Dallas is to enlighten, educate, enrich and entertain diverse communities about gays and lesbians through the medium of film and video and to contribute funds to organizations seeking to foster similar goals.

Our Organization

OUT TAKES Dallas is organized and presented exclusively by The OUT TAKES Dallas Festival Board of Directors and organization. We are especially proud that our festival is organized and managed by a completely volunteer Board of Directors and staff. The Board has a broad range of experience in the business, arts and non-profit worlds.  Our Board and Organization is represented by both men and women, and has included Hispanic, African-American, Native American, and Asian-Pacific members.

In addition to the Board of Directors, we have some 30+ Coordinators and Assistants that perform specific functions for the Board. Our Coordinators are the life blood of the volunteer organization and we could not conduct the festival without them.

Over 75 annual volunteer positions now contribute to the success of OUT TAKES Dallas. And that's only a small part of our volunteers - during the festival and our other events, we also rely on volunteer labor to orchestrate the event. Everything - from setup and teardown, to taking tickets, ushering, and making sure the audience gets the best possible technical presentation in the theater - is done by volunteers. We couldn't do it without them!

The OUT TAKES Foundation

The OUT TAKES Foundation is our parent legal entity, dealing with all matters financial as well as determining our strategic goals and objectives. Our Advisory Council is a group of concerned but independent voices that assist the Board and the Foundation in determining our future course.

About Our Name

OUT TAKES are two separate works, and both are capitalized. Dallas is presented with only the "D" capitalized, and the remainder in lowercase.
